CO₂ laser equipment cost and financing in Canada
What a professional CO₂ laser costs in Canada, what the quote should include, how lease-to-own financing works, and the published Alexa CO₂ figures.
Price is usually the first question a buyer asks and the last one a vendor answers in writing. This article explains what drives the cost of a professional CO₂ laser in Canada, what a complete quotation should contain, how lease-to-own financing works, and what Pro 1 Laser publishes for Alexa CO₂ Aesthetic.
What drives the price of a CO₂ laser
Professional CO₂ platforms vary widely in price. The headline number reflects several things at once:
- Capability — fractional only, or fractional and ablative with soft-tissue handpieces.
- Power configuration — higher-power configurations generally cost more.
- Delivery system and scanner — articulated arm or waveguide; scan field and shapes.
- Specialty handpieces — for example, women’s-health or scalp pathways.
- What is bundled — training, protocol support, service and delivery.
- The sales channel — manufacturer-direct or through intermediaries.
Two quotes with similar headline prices can differ a great deal once these items are lined up.
The published Alexa CO₂ figures
Pro 1 Laser publishes its pricing for Alexa CO₂ Aesthetic:
| Item | Figure |
|---|---|
| Manufacturer-direct price | $49,950 CAD |
| Manufacturer MSRP (reference) | $89,900 CAD |
| Financing | Lease-to-own from $799/month OAC |
The manufacturer-direct price is the standard direct price, not a limited-time sale. Configuration, handpieces, taxes, delivery and installation are confirmed on a written quotation. “OAC” means on approved credit: the actual monthly payment depends on configuration, term and credit approval.
What a complete quotation should list
Ask every vendor for the same items in writing, so you compare like with like.
- Exact model and power configuration.
- Handpieces and scanner included.
- Training: format, duration and number of staff.
- Service: who provides it and how to request it.
- Warranty terms, stated in writing.
- Consumables, if any, and their cost.
- Delivery, installation and taxes.
- Regulatory status — the Health Canada licence number.
If an item is missing, ask. A figure that cannot be put in writing is not a figure you can plan around. Pro 1 Laser confirms configuration, warranty and delivery details on the written quotation.
How lease-to-own financing works
Many clinics prefer not to pay for capital equipment upfront. Lease-to-own financing spreads the cost over a term, with ownership transferring according to the financing agreement.
What affects the payment:
- Configuration — the financed amount.
- Term — longer terms usually mean lower monthly payments and more total cost.
- Credit approval — the lender’s assessment of the business.
Questions to ask any financing provider:
- What is the full term, and what is the total amount payable?
- Is there a down payment or end-of-term payment?
- When and how does ownership transfer?
- What happens if you want to pay out early?
Pro 1 Laser does not publish financing rates on this site; ask for the terms that apply to your application. See the financing page.
Matching the payment to the menu
The useful question is not “what does it cost?” but “how many treatments cover the monthly payment?” With your own average price per treatment, the arithmetic is simple — and the ROI calculator does it for you. Remember that revenue is not profit: provider time, consumables, marketing and overhead come first. Our article on calculating ROI on a CO₂ laser walks through the method with hypothetical inputs.
Total cost of ownership
The purchase price is one line in a longer list. Before you sign, estimate:
- training time for your team;
- servicing and maintenance of the delivery system;
- any consumables;
- marketing to launch the new services;
- room time and provider time per treatment.
A slightly higher price with complete training and responsive service can cost less over five years than a cheaper device that sits idle.
Regulatory status is part of the price
A medical laser that cannot be legally sold or used in Canada is not a bargain at any price. Verify the Medical Device Licence number in Health Canada’s public MDALL database before you commit. Alexa CO₂ Aesthetic holds MDL 114909 — see the Health Canada page.
