Treatments · Acne scars
Acne scars are structural.
Add a scar-remodeling service line that goes further than facials, peels or pigment-only devices — with the 10,600 nm fractional CO₂ of Alexa CO₂ Aesthetic.
The category
A problem of relief, not colour.
Many patients have dermal change, depressions and shadowing that call for remodeling rather than simple brightening.
Atrophic scars
Depressions where the dermis lost volume after inflammation.
Rolling scars
Broad undulations that cast shadows under light.
Boxcar scars
Sharp-edged depressions, wider than they are deep.
Post-acne texture
Uneven grain, enlarged pores and irregular surface quality.
Fractional CO₂ creates controlled treatment zones that may support remodeling of scarred, uneven tissue in selected patients.
How Alexa applies
Deep for the scar, Hybrid for the skin around it.
Scar revision usually calls for deeper columns at moderate density. A Hybrid strategy adds surface treatment for the surrounding texture.
Illustrative, not to scale. Parameters are set by the clinician and taught in clinical training. The technology
Selection & recovery
Plan with skin type in mind.
Fitzpatrick type
Types I–III are the standard candidate range; darker types need more conservative settings and disciplined care.
Active acne
Active inflammation is generally controlled before scar remodeling, per clinical judgment.
Consented recovery
Redness, swelling and a healing period are expected and planned — never dismissed.
Series approach
Add density conservatively before adding depth, and reassess between sessions.
The business angle
A concern patients can name.
- High-value corrective series planned across several visits
- A natural step up from lower-downtime maintenance treatments
- The same platform also covers resurfacing, surgical scars and specialty pathways

Can Alexa CO₂ treat acne scars?
Fractional CO₂ may support remodeling of atrophic, rolling and boxcar acne scars in selected patients. Scars are structural: the plan depends on scar type, skin type and clinical judgment.
How many sessions are needed?
It varies with the scar, skin type and chosen intensity. Many clinics plan a series and reassess at every visit. No session count or outcome is guaranteed.
Can darker skin types be treated?
With caution. The risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation rises with Fitzpatrick type, so density and depth are reduced, intervals lengthened and pre- and post-care reinforced. Clinical training covers this planning.
Does fractional CO₂ cure acne scars?
No. It aims to improve scar texture and appearance; it does not erase scars. That is the message your patients should hear in consultation.
What recovery should patients expect?
It depends on depth, density and area. Scar remodeling often involves more recovery than a light refresh, and it should be explained and consented before treatment.
