Treatments · Skin resurfacing

The corrective end of your treatment menu.

Some patients want maintenance. Others want meaningful resurfacing. Alexa CO₂ Aesthetic is built for the second group: fine lines, wrinkles, texture and sun-damaged skin, with intensity matched to each plan.

The category

Why CO₂ resurfacing still matters.

Unlike facials, peels or light-based treatments, CO₂ creates controlled ablative and thermal injury that drives a stronger remodeling response.

  • Fine lines and wrinkles: perioral, cheek, periocular where appropriate
  • Rough texture, uneven surface, dullness
  • Sun-damaged skin and photoaging
  • Crepey skin and laxity support

Fractional delivery covers most aesthetic work; ablative (full-field) delivery provides more intensive renewal when the patient’s goals and downtime tolerance justify it. Fractional vs ablative CO₂

The intensity ladder

From a light refresh to deep correction.

With Alexa, intensity is not fixed: depth and density place each treatment on the rung that fits the patient.

Shallow: illustrative schematic of fractional treatment columns in skin, not to scaleEpidermisPapillary dermisReticular dermisSHALLOW
Light resurfacing
Texture refresh and glow; early aging, dullness, mild texture. Shorter recovery, often in a series.
Deep: illustrative schematic of fractional treatment columns in skin, not to scaleEpidermisPapillary dermisReticular dermisDEEP
Intensive resurfacing
Deeper wrinkles, advanced photodamage, more visible scars. Longer recovery and careful selection.

Selection & recovery

Choose the rung, not the maximum power.

  • Goal and indication

What you are correcting sets the starting depth and density.

  • Skin type and healing capacity

Darker types call for a more conservative approach and longer intervals.

  • Consented recovery

A patient who cannot take a week off is a candidate for a lighter rung across more sessions.

  • Periocular area

Reserved for trained providers using suitable parameters and eye-safety precautions.

The business angle

An annual anchor treatment.

Many patients choose one more intensive CO₂ resurfacing a year, then maintain results with lighter treatments. Alexa can become the annual anchor of a premium skin-renewal program.

FAQ

Resurfacing questions

What is fractional CO₂ resurfacing?

The scanner places a grid of microscopic treatment columns and leaves skin intact between them. Those islands support healing while the treated zones stimulate renewal and collagen remodeling.

Which areas can be treated?

The face, and where appropriate the neck, décolleté and hands. The periocular area can be treated by trained providers with eye-safety precautions.

Does CO₂ resurfacing replace a facelift?

No. CO₂ may support firmer-looking skin and better skin quality, but it does not replace surgical lifting or blepharoplasty.

How long is recovery?

It depends on depth, density and area. Light fractional treatment generally involves a few days of redness; deeper resurfacing a longer recovery. “No downtime” is never promised.

Is resurfacing suitable for all skin types?

Fitzpatrick I–III are the standard candidate range. Darker types require more conservative settings, pre- and post-care and careful selection.
